“Cheating in general is wrong. I’d rather someone break up with me than cheat, because when people cheat it’s a way of physically saying ‘my current partner in the relationship that I am in is not enough, and I need more.’ If that’s the case, then they shouldn’t even be in the relationship with the one they’re cheating on. Sure, avatars pose with each other as buddies and if there’s no romantic emotion attached it’s okay, but when those feelings arise and you’re still going around doing things like that or saying words like ‘I love you, you mean the world to me,’ then that, my friend, is real cheating because they’re real emotions between real people. Avatars do not feel, but the people controlling those avatars do. Don’t start saying ‘it’s the avatars that do it,’ because these pixelated beings have no will power, therefore, it’s not them.”

I also had them write a little bit about themselves so you readers can see our diversity in our magazine’s staff! I hope you enjoy reading these!

By Therese J. Borchard

I’m easily overwhelmed. When my kids’ exuberant screams reach a decibel level my ears can’t tolerate, when Chuck E., the life-size “rat” at the pizza place, starts doing his jig while flashing arcade lights blind me, or when I open my email to find 100 messages, I feel a meltdown coming on. Which is why I came up with seven quick ways to calm myself down.
