AviLicious Magazine decided to sponsor a contest by Koinup. It was a huge promotional contest for us and great overall success. Each member of AviLicious Magazine gave their effort to promote the contest on all sites that they are on and most of all they invited every IMVU member to participate. You might want to ask which contest is this. The theme and title of the contest was “A Day In My Imvu Life”. It was held on June 18 to July 7 of this year. The winners have been judged by our appointed AviLicious judges and were announced last July 14, 2008. Of course we did not forget the winners. Without them this contest would not be exciting.

Smoking and Bladder Health: One More Reason to Quit
by Paul J. Watkins
It’s common knowledge that cigarette smoking is linked to a variety of health problems. Disorders such as lung cancer and emphysema are perhaps the most recognized problems, but did you know that smoking is also a leading contributor to bladder disorders such as bladder-related cancers and bladder weakness? A 2003 study published in the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology found that smoking more than twenty cigarettes a day is associated with an increased risk of bladder weakness in women.
While it’s true that there are no studies establishing a direct link between smoking and bladder weakness, Rolando Rivera, M.D., a fellowship-trained urologist with specialists in Urology in Bonita Springs, Florida, notes that it can certainly be a contributing factor. He explains that smoking can lead to bladder cancer, bladder cancer can cause irritation of the bladder, and irritation can lead to bladder leakage.
Do you like IMVU? Do you like animals? Well did you know that there’s a whole community of avatars on IMVU with animal-like characteristics? That’s right! And they’re better known on IMVU as furries. Many avatars have come up with their own “fursona” for themselves. And just like normal avatars, furries have the latest fashion and the hottest accessories made by the amazing furry developers on IMVU. And I had the pleasure of speaking to one of them.
Her name is QT3point14 and she’s an up-and-coming furry developer, as well as a furry. Her products first caught my eye with their uniqueness and array of colors. At that point, I knew that this was someone with amazing talent that I wanted to talk to. When speaking with her, she told me that she’s always had a love for animals and had her first fursona at the age of about 8 or 9.
She also told me that her favorite furry would have to be a wolf. She’s had her wolf fursona for 6-7 years as of now, and she loves them for the qualities that she has in common with them. QT3point4 said she loves their loyalty, love and care for their pack, how they can be both playful and serious, and their teamwork as well as leadership.

Summer has officially arrived and, chances are, your neighborhood has come alive. Children are riding their bicycles, families are passing by with strollers, and couples are out on evening jogs. It’s the perfect “outside weather,” and if the thought of going to the gym makes you cringe, you’re not alone. But just because you don’t want to be cooped up inside, this is no reason to surrender your fitness goals. Why not take up hiking? Of all the season’s outdoor activities, hiking is one of the easiest for beginners to try, since all that’s really needed to get started is a good pair of boots. What’s more, hiking is ideal for the entire family, as long as you choose the appropriate trails.
“Hiking is a great replacement for a gym workout for several reasons,” says Seth Levy, a self-proclaimed gear expert and manager of the Western Public Lands Initiative for the American Hiking Society (AHS) in Silver Spring, Maryland. “For starters, it’s free, and for most Americans, it’s very accessible. It’s easier to stay engaged when the scenery is constantly changing,” he says. “And interacting with the natural environment has real benefits─it increases people’s balance, enhances feelings of well being, and boosts their ability to focus.”

Natural and Alternative Treatments for Bladder Leakage
By Paul J. Watkins
If you’ve been diagnosed with stress urinary incontinence (SUI), you may be wondering what options are available to regain more bladder control. Some women immediately opt for medications and other non-surgical treatments, while others prefer to avoid both surgery and prescription medications and instead try a natural or alternative treatment.
Perhaps the most well-known natural treatment for SUI is pelvic floor exercises, also known as Kegel exercises. “This exercise is designed to target the muscles of the pelvic floor and region to train or re-train the musculatures and supporting structures of the pelvic region, thus the muscles that control urination,” says Phieu Lam, N.D., a licensed and board-certified naturopathic doctor in Brooklyn, New York. Lam says Kegel exercises are an effective treatment for many women living with bladder leakage. Melissa Bennett, N.D., a traditional naturopathic practitioner in Lilburn, Georgia, agrees. “I personally feel Kegel exercises are extremely beneficial in preventing urinary incontinence.” She adds that, in several clinical studies, 50 to 75 percent of patients who performed only Kegel exercises noticed a substantial improvement in their symptoms. In addition, a 2006 review suggested that Kegel exercises are especially helpful for women in their 40s and 50s who experience stress incontinence.

(CNN) - Planning a road trip vacation can be tricky and downright frightening for people who are susceptible to carsickness.
Once the illness settles in, even the most soothing scenery whizzing past a car window will be no match for the symptoms: nausea, sweating, racing heart and difficulty breathing.
It’s a subject all too familiar to CNN chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta, who spoke with CNN.com about his own history of acute carsickness and how sufferers can treat it.
CNN: What happens in the body when someone experiences carsickness or motion sickness?
Gupta: Basically, everything in your body, all your senses activate at the same time. If there is some sort of mismatch between your senses, say your eyes are telling you that you’re moving - or not - and your ears are telling you [the opposite] and for some reason they’re not connecting, you start to get what’s called disequilibrium, or motion sickness. It’s the body’s response of telling you “something is not quite right here.”
