IMVU Developer Homepage: Spirit
When did you become a member here on IMVU?
I’ve been part of IMVU since November 2006.
How much do you know about developing?
Not as much as I would like to, but I’m sure I know enough to help out here and there. :)
When did you start developing?
Well, I messed about with stickers and things from day one, but I’ve done serious developing for a year now.
Is it easy to be a developer?
It is as easy or as hard as you choose to make it, but different people struggle with different things. Personally, I find it very hard to make good-looking hair. It’s also a lot of work to draw clothing and make it look good; all my clothes are hand painted by me.
AviLicious Model Ellonway. What was the first item you developed?
A sticker (hehe). I think stickers are everybody’s first.
What is your latest product?
My latest range is my Parade line of clothing. I took a step away from my PVC items and went back to my other love - Military Style. I love the shapes and the decoration of military jackets (but I like to add my own sexy twist).
As a developer, what are the things inspire you to do these kind of products?
I need an outlet for my creativity, and I also like to indulge my interest for PVC and other such designs.
Have you had a hard time understanding the steps on IMVU previewer?
Everything is hard if you don’t know - the trick is to find a good teacher or mentor.
In doing items or products, do you think IMVU rules and regulations is just fair?
Urgh, I would like IMVU to make a plan of action and stick to it! all the changes make life harder and harder.
Doing a product is not free, correct? Is it expensive to do the items?
When you’re a new developer, getting started can be expensive. I was fortunate enough to be awarded a D.C. scholarship of 10,000 credits (for more information see www.devcredits.com) and this got me set on my way to becoming who I am now, a year later.
Is there any required software in developing?
If you have a good paint program then you can texture anything you like :D. There are some great free ones out there; I use Photoshop (not free), but I had this before I started on IMVU.
Any advice that you can share with all the developers out there on IMVU?
Be prepared for anything. IMVU can be a joy, a pain, and everything in between.
