When did you become a member here on IMVU?
I became a member of IMVU about July 2, years ago. I was on Mypace when someone invited me to IMVU, and I loved it immediately!

How much do you know about developing?
Well, over time I’ve become more familiar with the previewer and developing techniques. I would like to think I know quite a bit in developing, lol, as I always tried to learn as much as I could, and spent a lot of time on IMVU developing.

When did you start developing?
I started developing about a month after I was on IMVU when I found out it was possible to. It was not as advertised back then, like it is now.

Is it easy to be a developer?
I wouldn’t call developing easy, but once you put enough hours into it, you will improve and it becomes easier. Anyone can make a product, but the quality and the presentation takes time to perfect.

What is the first item you developed?
The first item I created was a sticker, lol. I made stickers for some time until I learned how to do furniture and rooms.

What is your latest product?
My latest product is a Japanese Soto Zashiki open tatami space soon to be released from peer review. You can look out for it.

AviLicious Model Lilmissspoil. As a developer, what inspires you to do these kinds of products?
I always had a love for the Asian culture since I was young. When I joined IMVU I was looking for a really traditional home. I didn’t see any, so I tried my hand at bringing that feel to IMVU for those anime/manga lovers, and for those who also just enjoy the culture. I decided to stick to that theme throughout my entire time creating, as I find that when you work on a certain theme you improve as time goes on. I was, and continue to be, inspired by my travels to Asia and eternal fascination.

Have you had a hard time understanding the steps on IMVU previewer?
When it comes to the previewer, it was much simpler to begin with. As time went on it changed a lot, and became a bit more complicated. I just tried to adapt with the changes, and ask questions in the forums if I didn’t understand something. People are willing to help, and you have lots of reading material to consult. Spending hours upon hours with the previewer also helped.

In doing items or products, do you think IMVU rules and regulations are fair?
Wow. Well, IMVU has changed a lot over time in regards to rules for products. I guess, due to the increase in product creation, and the amount of developers starting up, things needed to be changed to accomodate this. I know IMVU is trying hard to make this a family-friendly place, which caused a lot of trouble along the way due to more rigid policies. Some people may not think that some of the changes are fair, but I try to abide by any rules set, because I just love to develop and do my thing. I don’t make many AP products, so those changes didn’t affect me as much. The only thing I feel disappointed about is the Tier system, and I believe older Pro developers should be treated differently in the new system.

Doing a product is not free, correct? Is it expensive to do the items?
Developing sure isn’t free, but in any business you have to spend to get back. It is hard starting out as the fees will probably get to you. But when you start getting sales and increasing your catalog, it becomes a bit easier. Submission of products used to be free for Pro developers in the old system, but in the new one I still have to pay submission fees, at a managable amount.

What advice can you share with all the developers out there on IMVU?
My advice to all developers out there is to spend as much time as possible to perfect your presentation and wording when putting out products. Try to avoid trouble by just obeying the standards put by IMVU and making things easier for all of us in the end. I know many people may not agree with a lot of the changes put out, but as we speak out against them, just remember IMVU is just trying to make this community great for everyone, and help control our ever-growing population. Don’t make these new rules discourage you if you really love creating products.
