Do you like IMVU? Do you like animals? Well did you know that there’s a whole community of avatars on IMVU with animal-like characteristics? That’s right! And they’re better known on IMVU as furries. Many avatars have come up with their own “fursona” for themselves. And just like normal avatars, furries have the latest fashion and the hottest accessories made by the amazing furry developers on IMVU. And I had the pleasure of speaking to one of them.
Her name is QT3point14 and she’s an up-and-coming furry developer, as well as a furry. Her products first caught my eye with their uniqueness and array of colors. At that point, I knew that this was someone with amazing talent that I wanted to talk to. When speaking with her, she told me that she’s always had a love for animals and had her first fursona at the age of about 8 or 9.
She also told me that her favorite furry would have to be a wolf. She’s had her wolf fursona for 6-7 years as of now, and she loves them for the qualities that she has in common with them. QT3point4 said she loves their loyalty, love and care for their pack, how they can be both playful and serious, and their teamwork as well as leadership.
durrtysnapp: “I hear that many furries get a hard time for preferring their fursonas instead of being ‘normal.’ Has anything like that ever happened to you?”
QT3point14: “Nope. Most of the people I associate with have enough respect to let me do my own thing.”
When QT became interested in developing, she bought her name and started out with making stickers, as most devs do. Then she learned how to make skins and the rest is history. She told me that she prefers to make unique and themed skins rather than use realism in her work. She just starts to create and works on whatever comes to mind. Sadly, however, she has had issues in the past with other devs copying her work and her ideas. QT told me that once in the past, her IMVU mother copied skin ideas from her, along with a few other people who shall remain unnamed. Ever since, then she’s kept her ideas to herself.
QT3point14: “I got lucky with a private fur request I did last night. PR didn’t take any of them”
QT3point14: “So I could gift them to the person right after I submitted. Which is nice… *sigh* ah the old days”
durrtysnapp: “Ah, wow. That is lucky. ^_^”
durrtysnapp: “So I take it you’re not really a fan of PR either then?”
QT3point14: “Nope”
QT3point14: “It’s really stupid”
QT3point14: “Especially when like at least 80% of devs that gave feedback about whether or not it should be implemented said that it should not be”
QT said that she hates Peer Review because it could take minutes or even days. You never know. She had taken a break from IMVU for a while and at the time of her leaving, Peer Review was still only for stickers. Then when she returned to IMVU, everything had to go through Peer Review. As many of you may know, the developers of IMVU are not happy with the new Peer Review system. Many of them are equally upset with people flagging their products for no good reason. A lot of furry devs have had their furkinis, which is like a bathing suit matching their fur, set to AP as well now. I asked QT if anything like this had happened to her as well, and luckily she said no, none have been flagged.
Do you want to get involved in the furry community? Do you want to take action against the furkinis being wrongfully disabled? Well here’s your chance! I came across an IMVU Group that is actively participating in trying to re-instate the furkini. They have two main threads for the petition; One where you can read the petition, and then one where you can sign it. They also have many other discussions going on within the group. Please feel free to take a look at the group here and join if you wish.
durrtysnapp: “Is there anything else you’d like to say to AviLicious or the furry community?”
QT3point14: “It’s nice being a good representative of the furry community. Thanks for having me.”
durrtysnapp: “Thanks for letting us have the pleasure of interviewing you. (:”
Be sure to take a look at QT3point14’s IMVU catalogue!

Cool outfit…
